I'm having a giftart giveaway again this year--scroll down to the end of the journal if that's what you're interested in.

I kinda miss drawing pictures for my journal headers. Boo. Maybe that would give me a reason to actually update my journal more often but I'm not going to go into how I should update more again, goodness me no.
I got my computer fixed, as you all might have guessed--I had insurance so I didn't get saddled with the $1300 bill, and it was just a minor inconvenience for a few days.
On the upside computerwise, I got a student discount on Windows 7 and finally installed Boot Camp! It runs great with Snow Leopard, and I guess my only complaint is that it takes a while to switch between hard drives. Mostly the PC half is for games and SAI (though my trial probably ran out by now), but that's basically what I wanted it for. It's nice to be able to...you know...have nice things instead of just complaining about how terrible it is to lack them. And not have every .EXE file I see be like a pinch of raw salt ground into the gaping wound that being Windowsless left in my heart. My emo, emo heart.

What else?

Surprisingly not a lot on the school frontier for once! Lot of work, doing okayish, so many tests coming up, la la la boring. Well...not to me so much, but I'm not sure anyone on DA will be impressed with my ability to make a proper pruning cut.

Games! I picked up Half Life when I went home a few weeks ago, and I was playing that for a little bit while I still had access to my PS2. It's a very unique experience for me--a genre that I'm terrible at (First Person Shooter), and more interestingly a game that I haven't watched somebody else play first. I don't like unknowns. I hate screwing up and looking like an idiot. I like to know what I'm getting into. With movies, I won't go see it in theaters until I at least check to see what kind of reviews it's getting. With games, I like to at least kind of what they're like or how they control before I buy them, since most new games are kind of expensive. Half Life is like ten years old and I got it used for about five dollars, so I figured why not? It's a very strange thing for me to do.
With the end result that I have no idea what I'm doing and keep winding up in hilarious and frustrating situations. I usually don't mind if game plots get spoiled for me, since I like playing along more than being surprised by them (not to mention I'm not exactly on the cutting edge of gaming, so I don't really play new releases), but it's been nice to have a change. And not know what the hell I'm doing and jumping down an elevator shaft over and over and over--
Also got Psychonauts but only got to play it for an hour before I left. That was fun too, though!
Also really want to get an Xbox now! Will have to wait until after Christmas though. Still not sure which one I want to go with and I don't really have money to throw away.

OH HEY SPEAKING OF CHRISTMAS...

Yeaaaaah you know what I'm talking about! It's the season for giving so I'll be giving out a free art requests between now and Christmas for anyone that asks nice. I might be biting off more than I can chew since I don't know exactly what kind of free time I'm going to have, but I'd better start now in any case. I'm not so into chibis any more so it probably won't be in the same art vein as last year's giftart dump. Probably more like these: [link] ...people seemed to like that lineless style, anyway.
If you've always wanted to see your character in Tic Style then this is your chance :3 Just leave a comment on this journal or send me a note with a reference of the character you want and I'll do my best.

Have a good December everyone! Good luck with finals if you have them, and stay warm if it's cold, wherever you are!

Can you give me a list of materials used and how you went about making these costumes? These are THE BEST/HIGHEST QUALITY Henchmen costumes I have seen online and through Google search. I really, really want to go as Henchmen #24 for Halloween this year and would extremely appreciate it if I could know how you made these so I can make it for myself (or even buy one from you).

Thank you so much!
Justin
