Guess who found a new shading style again... <X3

Actually, this kind of came on spontaneously. I was getting online to check stuff before getting down to some good old benkyou-shimasu-in' ((Exams start tomorrow T_T)) when I saw a really nice gallery on DA, and I thought, 'hmm...I should practice drawing animals better...' so I went into Photoshop and sketched a head. Looked kind of like a wolf head. But I felt like being cool, so I did a dark yellow border instead of grey or something...then I zoomed on over to the brushes.

I was going to just use the regular paint brush, but again, something was driving me otherwise, so I picked one at random. I created a new layer and started to color it in...

It looked....so...cool .-.; I was only using one layer, but by varying the pressure I was able to do shading and highlights all in one, then I started shouting at Nestly, raving on about how cool my new shading was. Then I decided to make it into an actual creature instead of just a head (XD) So I did the body, shaded that in (raving all the while) then I added the brown fur on the back and it looked so cool that I thought it deserved a background. I kinda half-assed it on the background though, it's just red airbrush XD

So what do you all think..? Should I keep shading like this?

Oh, and if anyone has ideas for a species name, share XD I came up blank while I was raving on about how beautiful it was and whatnot.
